The new food services
ISS the food service provider of Lahti Campus has resigned after causing a lot of controversial opinions and conversation. For the last year the student union has worked with ISS and delivered all the concerns of students to them trying to affect the quality of food and other services. In the beginning of spring semester, we heard that ISS is leaving and ISKU has started to look for a new food service. On 15th of May ISKU announced the change that will be happening and informed everyone that Compass Group will be the new food services. The full announcement can be found in Yammer in NiemiCampus News community.
“In addition to delicious food we are developing the existing space with Isku to provide a better service experience and seating areas for both entrepreneurs and students alike. The changes will be made during the summer and will be ready by the beginning of autumn.” The Senior Manager, Concession accounts, Anu Tallgren describes.
The new restaurant will be run by the Compass Group who has a comprehensive experience on food services. Compass Group is one of the leading companies on the field and is operating in 45 countries. We looked at their website and were convinced and left with a feeling of trust and hopefulness. The services kickstart today 1st of June. For the summer they will provide lunch for the staff working at the campus and hopefully the student meals will start in autumn. We have started our interaction with Compass Group, and they are interested in developing their services to be more student friendly. As Tallgren mentioned they will be altering the sitting arrangements and service paths to better suit us all. Hopefully, we all get to test their dishes and services in the autumn.
